Comcast's not the Only Company Offering a Rebate

MSNBC: Pink Visual Offers Compensation for 'Superbowl Porn' Mishap

You've got to love a porn company that can make a joke:

Adult entertainment studio Pink Visual announced today that it is offering its Tucson, Arizona-area customers $10 off subscriptions to its flagship mobile and "mega pass" adult sites to compensate Comcast customers who might have wanted to see the rest of the porn movie that interrupted Sunday's Superbowl broadcast.

"We feel really bad for the customers that were just getting into it when Comcast rudely switched back to the football game before the clip could really get going," joked Kim Kysar, brand and product manager for Pink Visual...

"Having seen the clip which interrupted the Superbowl uncensored and uncut, I can imagine that many fans were left wanting to see a lot more of Evan Stone," Kysar said. "Perhaps they even wished they had access to a private, mobile adult site where they could get a bit of 'alone time' to get fired up after the game, and to release the frustration they felt after watching Arizona lose in the game's final seconds."

MSU in Capital One Bowl

So its offical: MSU is going to the Capital One Bowl (a.k.a., the Citrus Bowl). I can see some pros and cons with that:

Pros:

- New Years Day Bowl? Those are when REAL bowls are played!

- MSU gets $4.25 million just for showing up. That's not a bad deal.

- This is the same bowl UofM played in last year when they beat Florida.

Cons:

- We play Georgia, a team that is nearly as good as Ohio State or Penn State.

- Unlike Big Ten teams, SEC teams typically don't mind running up the score. You think losing to Penn State 49-18 is bad? It could be 60+ with Georgia.

Getting Closer

My FF team is starting to come together. I cracked 100 points this week!

That brings me one step closer to my only real goal when playing FF: not losing to a girl. Kasia's loss this week puts us in a tie. Sure, we both suck at 3-5 and she has 50 more points then me, but the point is:

Fantasy Football update

My fantasy team has won the last two week and is slowly turning things around. Thank God too, because if I lose to Kasia I may never hear the end of it:) I just need her to lose a few more now...

MSU is ranked in the top 25 (19 or 23, depending on which poll you read)! Like every year where this event marks the peak of our team's performance before we badly screw up our season, I'm going to be getting my drinks in this week.

College Football this Saturday

College football officially starts this Saturday. I was curious what the readers think about MSU and UofM's chances this year.

My predictions:

MSU - 7-5 would be a good season. I just can't see us beating Cal, OSU, Wisconsin, or UofM. Beating any of those would be a huge coup for us. Penn State is the big question. Last year's game was fantastic. I hope for the same this year.

UofM - 9-3. UofM will probably lose to OSU and perhaps Wisconsin. UofM is harder to figure out, since they have a new QB, RB, and totally new offensive system. Their game with Wisconsin in week 4 will be the big test. If they really do have a working spread offense, they could beat every team they see. UofM still has the defense to beat any team.

I'm in class today helping my employer's education services group demo some new stuff we are doing to process forms. As an example, they downloaded the Wisconsin Income Tax form (see here).

Look at this screenshot I took of the bottom of the first page and tell me that is not just a little crazy.

In other football news: GOD DAMN Fantasy football FRACK BITCH CRAP!

Donovan McNabb had a combined total of just 23 FF points for the first two weeks, so I cut him for this week. Made sense right? My backup was Vince Young, so I thought it made sense. Young was playing New Orleans, who's D has not held up to any team so far this season, and the Eagles were playing Detroit, who have had a decent defense so far.

You can see where this is heading...

Donovan McNabb scored 43 FF points this week against the Lions. Young only got me 18. FRACK! With those extra points I would have won this week and moved into second in the league. Instead, I'm down to 5th place.

I've since realized my mistake: never bet that the Detroit Lions will show up and play a game.

Something for the Michigan Fans

I think I can sum up my feelings on the Michigan / Oregon game in one sentence:

"Now you know what its feels like to be a MSU fan."

Welcome to the other side.

One thing I will say though: When we lose we usually don't boo our own team. Or look like someone just shot our mother on national TV. No no.

We drink! Of course, we do that when we win too...

Oh, and I have to comment on Hart's statement that he guarantees they will beat Notre Dame next week:

Have you seen Notre Dame this year? They suck. Like a vacuum on overdrive suck. They haven't scored an offensive touchdown in TEN quarters. That's 2 and half games for those slow at math. I doubt they could have beaten Appalachian State either. Hell, my high school's football team could probably beat them, and we were only a 1A school:) Brighton would definitely beat them:)

The only bad things was that the game wasn't televised, so I couldn't watch U of M lose to a division I-AA school!

Super Bowl Post

Most impressive thing during the Superbowl: Not the football. Oh no. The most impressive thing was the fact that those half time dancers could dance in the 3 inch stiletto heels with all that rain and not fall on their ass.

Least Impressive: What the heck was that pre-game show? It looked like the Cat in the Hat threw up in his hat and poured it on the field.

Best Commercials: I really liked the "Connectile Dysfunction" one from Sprint. The Bud Light commercials "fist bump is out" and "guy with an axe and Bud Light" were hilarious. And those "Survior" CareerBuilder.com commercials were great.

And yes, GoDaddy.com's marketing is still run by 13 year old boys (THANK GOD!).

Random Thought: Speaking of commercials, why did every Coke commercial show people drinking from the old glass bottles? You haven't been able to buy a glass bottle of Coke since I was 10 years old.
