Hello all,

Eric and I just got back from our friend Nicole's wedding in Houston, Texas. That is another state we have visited. The weather was beautiful. Most of the weekend it was sunny and 70's. Mmmm warmth... We had a lot of fun. Mike, Joyce, Kien and Courtney were able to go to the wedding too so that was even better.

Eric and I rented a car and got to drive a Pontiac G6 all weekend. I loved the car; it had a sun roof! Of course, Mike copied us and rented the same car ;) I guess it is popular for rentals.

Houston looked like Michigan. Trees everywhere. They had lots of Mexican restaurants though. They say that everything is bigger in Texas, except for their road signs!!! Argh. I also must say that they end parties too early. The wedding had to end at 10:00pm, what is that??? So of course we continued on at a local bar ;)

Here are our pics. Our camera died just before the reception so we are missing those and some of our pics are fuzzy so we need a new camera. Guess that will be our next purchase. Overall it was good food, lots of drinking, and good friends!!!

Post New Years Update

There are multiple videos of me drunk and doing stupid things on the internet. It's like I'm a celebrity now!

Reports of me having sex on New Years Eve have been greatly exaggerated.

We got 15" of snow here at my house on New Years. I had to shovel the driveway just to get my car back on to it. Speaking of snow, the drive home REALLY sucked. It took us an hour and a half for what is normally a 40 minute drive. At several points on I-96, there was only one lane actually plowed. And I'm not sure a plow trunk ever made it to US-23.

My Great Weekend

I had a fantastic weekend. It was so good that the best I can do is bullet points and links for now. Sue and I need to rest for the next week at least before I will have anything that resembles coherent prose:)


1) ESPN: Spartans win first NCAA hockey title since 1986 - Fuck YA! No better way to put you in a good mood to go out clubbing then hearing your Alma mater has won the NCAA hockey tournament after being a 3rd seed.

2) Montreal - Great city. Good times had by all. Got some new crazy memories to enjoy later in life, from the smoke detector going off in our non-smoking room (I can't mention why) to the crazy tranny that started mumbling and following us after our trip out Saturday night.

3) Stereo - Fantastic club in Montreal. At least the after-hours part is. Before 2am, the place is pretty lame. Its been a while since I danced the night away until 4am, but it was certainly worth it. According to several of our co-partiers, Stereo has the best rated sounds system in North America. After listening to it for a few hours, I became a believer.

4) Bal en Balnc - Holy shit! I have never seen ....well... ANYTHING like this. The most fucked up, crazy, loud event I have ever been too. Armin Van Buuren rose to the top of both my and Sue's lists of favorite live DJs. His set was un-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE.

I don't even know how to describe this to someone who hasn't been to an event like this. Here are a bunch of pictures to give you an idea.

One thing I have to mention is the weird paradox of people who come to this event. It was a strange mix of openly gay men and insanely hot, scantly clad women. The two in combination doesn't make a ton of sense to me, but whatever:)

Throw in people from 18 - 45, including whole families (I saw a rather large number of Asian families all together for some reason). And what is really odd: no pushing, no fighting, no drunken brawls or angry words. Just a bunch of people together having fun and listening to some fantastic music.

Hockey and Drinking

Good weekend with the DPP (Detroit Party Posse, not to be confused with the HPP). Took in the Michigan / Michigan State hockey game at the Joe. God I love hockey. Sue and I may need to get season tickets next year for MSU. And I have to once again agree with Ryan's long ago comment about watching teams where hockey is a big deal vs watching teams where it is not so much: You can really tell the difference in talent. MSU vs UofM looked a lot smoother and more professional then the game I saw UAH play.

As with any outting to the Detroit area, we ended up in our favorite hole in the wall Hamtramack bar: Whiskey in the Jar. Basically 3 tables, a pool table, and bar. Good times. Anytime you get a member of your party banned from playing music on the jukebox you know you were having a good night (specifically, banned for the playing of music from Telsa).
